Build a global portfolio from your age and savings
Three numbers is all it takes. Enter your age, what you have saved so far, and what you can add each year. The builder splits your money across US stocks, the rest of the developed world, emerging markets, bonds and cash, and shows what that mix could grow to by age 65.
Your portfolio mix
Both amounts are 0, so there are no dollars to split yet. The mix above is the recipe: add any starting amount or a yearly amount and the same percentages turn into real dollars.
The projection assumes yearly returns of 7% for stocks, 3% for bonds and 1% for cash, blended by your mix, with your yearly amount added at the end of each year. These return figures are assumptions for illustration, not a forecast, and real markets will differ. This is an educational model, not personal financial advice.
How this mix is set
- Stocks start at 110 minus your age, kept between 25% and 90%. Younger means more growth, older means less risk.
- Cash is 5% before age 50 and 10% from age 50 on.
- Bonds take whatever is left.
- The stock part splits three ways: 55% US stocks, 30% developed world stocks outside the US, 15% emerging market stocks, so no single country carries the whole portfolio.
- Rounding: the five segments are rounded to whole percents so they always add to exactly 100%.
